Stargate Atlantis este un serial stintifico fantastic, o coproductie americano-canadiana parte din franciza Stargate detinuta de MGM. Producatorii sunt Brad Wright si Robert C. Cooper. Serialul este filmat si produs in Canada.
Stargate Atlantis urmareste aventurile unei expeditii umane in orasul pierdut Atlanytis din constelatia Pegasus. Poarta Stelara a adus umanitatea in contact cu alte culturi si, evident cu noi si puternici dusmani, Wraith, Genii, si mai tarziu Asurans toate acestea in timp ce se incearca descoperirea secretelor pe care Anticii le-au lasat in urma.
Premierea a fost in 16 iulie 2004 cu episodul Rising in care au jucat Richard Dean Anderson si Michael Shanks din Stargate SG1.
Serialul are pana in prezent 4 serii iar ce-a de-a 5-a este in filmare.
Actiunea din Stargate Atlantis se petrece in orasul Atlantis, pe o planeta numita Lantea din Galaxia Pegasus, construita cu milioane de ani in urma de catre cea mai avansata rasa din universul Stagate:Anticii.
